Paintings of innocence and experience is the title of my current exhibition but I intend to pursue this theme. Other ideas are included but they exhibit the contrast between negative and positive, darkness and light. The one thing I believe in unreservedly is the power of imagination. Experience, that is external reality is often dark an threatening, but there is an inner realm of vision which can transcend it. It represents life before the fall when existence and essence were united. This was a state which never exited historically. It belongs to and comes from the imagination but we like t think that it is reflected in childhood. But to live permanently in this world would be not only escape but escapism.
